長野県軽井沢町に1986年に開業された、軽井沢プリンスホテルウエストの建て替えリニューアルに伴う、ランドスケープ整備のプロジェクトである。

このリニューアルでは、まずMICE機能の拡充として新たなエントランス整備やレストランの建て替えが実施され、その後対応するホスピタリティのグレードアップとしてメインエントランスの再整備、客室の建て替え、及び温浴棟の新設が実施された。

D+Mは、建築設計の観光企画設計社とチームを組み、軽井沢プリンスホテル全体のリニューアルマスタープランのプロポーザルに参加し、デザイナーとして選定された。以降、マスタープラン策定に引き続き、ウエストリニューアルのランドスケープ基本計画、基本設計、実施設計、及び施工監理を担当した。

浅間山への眺望や矢ケ崎山との景観的な連続性を確保し、埋もれていた既存樹のモミジを引き立たせるアプローチの改修、重機移植によるモミジの既存大径木の再利用、及びゴルフ場跡地という歴史に鑑みた開放的な内部の庭園整備を行うことで、敷地が持っていたポテンシャルを高め、初期完成度の高い景観形成を実現した。

The project is a renewal of Karuizawa Prince Hotel West, which opened in 1986 in Karuizawa Town. In 2017 D+M along with KKS group (architects) were invited to the proposal of the renewal master plan and were selected as a designer.

D+M and KKS group first re-developed the master plan, and then D+M was in charge of landscape schematic design, design development, construction drawings, and construction supervision in the renewal of Hotel West.

This renewal was intended to expand the MICE function of the hotel. First, the new entrance and restaurant were renovated, then the existing entrance and new guest room building, and finally the hot spring building to improve hospitality.

First, D+M planned a new approach road and a porte-cochère that can handle large buses while preserving the existing large trees and also ensuring views to Seizan-ike Pond from everywhere in the All-day Dining at the second floor.

In the hospitality upgrade, D+M refurbished the main approach with a high degree of initial completion by combining existing maples and newly planted maples.

D+M also tried to add the atmosphere of villas of Karuizawa to the landscape around the guest rooms by planting indigenous species that can feel the four seasons while leaving the feeling of openness of the site that was once a golf course.

In addition, in the new hot spring building, the autumn leaves can be seen from all places such as the lobby, indoor bath, and open-air bath, on the north hill called Momiji-yama in the background.

这是一个位于长野县轻井泽町，于1986年开业的轻井泽王子酒店西区的重建和翻新项目。

在这次翻新中，首先作为MICE功能的扩展，进行了新的入口整备和餐厅重建，其次为了提升相应的款待等级，重新整备了主入口，重建了客房，并新建了温浴馆。

D+M与负责建筑设计的观光企画设计社组成团队，参加了整个轻井泽王子酒店的翻新总体规划提案，并被选为设计师。此后，继续负责制定总体规划，并承担了西区翻新的景观基本规划、基本设计、施工图设计及施工管理。

通过确保朝向浅间山的视野和与矢崎山的景观连续性，对现有被埋没的枫树进行提升改造，利用重型机械移植现有的枫树大径木，以及根据作为高尔夫球场遗址的历史进行开放的内部庭院整备，从而提高了场地的潜力，实现了高初期完成度的景观形成。
